Work on the stage that is still blocked
The route below follows TOUGH’s September 5 Mines run, which reaches an escape. The sequence is the useful part: the narration does not establish a fixed total for coal or TNT.
Keep the current obstacle in mind. A closed furnace gate calls for the mining stage; blocked rocks beyond it call for the explosives stage. The School’s five-key checklist will not tell you what to collect here.
From pickaxe to exit
- Find a pickaxe. Obtain the tool before beginning the coal task. The reference player finds one at 05:16.
- Mine coal. Use the pickaxe to gather fuel, then keep your return route to the furnace in mind. The coal-gathering part begins around 05:26.
- Deposit coal at the furnace. Keep contributing until the required amount is accepted and the passage opens. This interaction is narrated at 06:06; a call for four more pieces is not the total requirement.
- Continue through the opened passage. Locate the exit blocked by rocks and its TNT placement prompt. That next objective appears around 06:36–06:47.
- Collect and place the TNT. Return the explosives to the blocked exit and complete the placements requested by the current game. Do not substitute a guessed number from another map or guide.
- Find the lighter and ignite the setup. The reference player obtains the lighter at 07:32 and escapes shortly afterward. Once the obstruction clears, move through the usable opening.
The furnace gate will not open
Check what you have completed: obtaining a pickaxe, gathering coal and delivering coal are separate tasks. Carrying the tool alone does not finish the fuel stage.
Return to the furnace and use its interaction prompt. Check whether the fuel requirement still needs more before searching for the next area. When playing together, tell teammates whether you are gathering or depositing so that the same task is not left to everyone else.
You reached the rocks but cannot leave
Reaching the exit marker starts another task. Check the TNT placement prompt and finish any remaining placements, then look for the lighter. The route needs ignition as well as explosives.
If a chase interrupts you, return to the last incomplete interaction. Check what the game still requests rather than assuming you must repeat every earlier stage.
Use landmarks, not promised spawns
Remember the furnace, the newly opened passage and the blocked exit as your main navigation points. The reviewed source does not establish fixed item coordinates, a spawn-randomization rule or resource totals. Follow the current prompts when they differ from an older recording.
